On Thursday, July 11th, the Neighbourhood Network team, in collaboration with staff from Cornerhouse, organised and delivered a successful event aimed at young people and their families living in the HU7 area of the city.
Held at the Alf Marshall Community Centre, the event aimed to showcase a variety of activities and services available to young people and their families in the HU7 area. It attracted 21 different youth service providers, each demonstrating the opportunities available to the local community.
Attendees enjoyed live demonstrations, giveaways, and were even treated to pizza slices and refreshments. Many young people attending the event expressed enthusiasm, asking, “Can this be a regular Thursday evening event?”
The event saw a turnout of 165 young people, and it is hoped they were inspired to try something new and make positive changes in their lives. This event was the first of its kind, and the organisers hope to build on its success by planning more events in the future.
This collaboration marked the first time Neighbourhood Network and Cornerhouse worked together to organise an event, showcasing excellent partnership work.
